this probably isn’t very exciting to you, but it’s an example of court processionals in the hippodrome. seated in the upper left is the sultan, watching the architects’ presentation  of larger than life [literally] models of his future mosque. am really digging perspectives [or lack there of]…

remember that gold statue of mary as you scroll down…

inside the aforementioned basilica. completely covered in gold, with tons of small boats suspended from the arches to protect marseille’s sailors. charming and awesome.
